Ever since she was a little girl, Béchamel always wanted to go to Paris and be a chef. And now that she was older, she decided to go and work at a restaurant in Paris. So the next week she went to an airport to get a flight.

"Oh," she said " I need a suitcase to fit all my things." She ran to a store called "Buy a suitcase". She said, "Can I have a big suitcase ?" But unfortunately the person running the shop said, "Sorry, you need a small one if you are going to Paris." Béchamel was upset but tried not to show it. "Thanks!", she said. "Bye!"

When she got home, she had to pack. At first she put all the cooking supplies in her pink suitcase, but then she thought about her clothes. "Oh no, I need somewhere to put my clothes! Hmmmm...", she said, "how bout I put my clothes in the suitcase and my cooking supplies in a big bag?!" Yes, that will work! But when she was all finished, she looked at the time. It was 12:30!! The plane left at 12:45!

She ran out of the house and called a taxi.

The driver Tomato said, "Where do you want to go?"

"I need to be at the airport ASAP!"

After a while, she looked out of the window and saw a lot of cars.

"Oh no!", she said. "We will be late!"

She was so stressed that Tomato decided to take a shortcut.

15 minutes later...

"Here you are. Have a good day!"

"Thanks", said Béchamel. She ran inside as fast as she could with a suitcase and a big bag of cooking supplies!

"What number is my plane?", she said, looking at her ticket. It's gate 12, which is right over there. She ran over to the security person closing the gate.

"Has the plane left?"

"Sorry!", said the security. "Left just a second ago."

"NO!", said Béchamel. She went over to the bench, face in her hands, crying. After a few minutes the security guard, Velouté, said, "What's wrong? Was that your plane?"

"Yes", said Béchamel, "it was my dream to work in Paris as a chef. And now I can't go!"

Putting her hand back on her face.

"Well", said Velouté, "I know how you feel. I also wanted to go to Paris when I was younger. But my plane got cancelled , so I decided to work here. If you also really want to, I can try to get you another ticket since I am the person who gives tickets out!"

Béchamel looked up. "Could you? That would mean so much to me!"

"Yup!I could!", said Velouté.

"But how will I make it up to you?", Béchamel wondered. "You don't really have to. Just go to Paris and make french food for me!"

"Thank you so much!", Béchamel shouted.

"Let me go and see if I can get you a ticket. Wait here!"

After ten minutes, Velouté came back and said, "Your plane ticket will come in 30 minutes, right here at gate 12! Just sit tight and relax!"

"Thank you so much", Béchamel said.

Now you may wonder: Did Béchamel ever get to Paris?

Yes. She did. She opened a shop called Béchamel's tasty treats!

And for Velouté?

As he got older, he decided to live in Paris and eat Béchamel's treats.

The end.
